The case contains fitted, holed wooden blocks to hold a individual rounds of ammunition. The main compartment which holds the shoulder stock and action, has a leather retaining strap with buckle to hold it firmly in place.
The inside of the case has green felt lined compartments which protect the rifle in its broken down form, with additional compartments for accessories. The top of the lid has a void brass roundel. It has a hinged lid with brass lever operated clasp fastener with lock (key absent). The inside of the lid has its original Holland & Holland trade labels. The rifle comes with its original leather covered hard case. The wrist has an almost invisible old repair which is totally secure and stable (this rifle has recently been used in competitions with this repair in place). It has a steel butt plate and pistol grip cap. The rifle has a lovely walnut shoulder stock with chequered pistol grip and chequered fore end with polished horn cap. The underside of the fore stock is also numbered 10169. The trigger guard tang has matching number 10169. The hammer and top lever also have engraved scroll work.
